Ft Leonard Wood has a few. You have to stop by the base and get a permit and they'll direct you to a good spot or in the Mark Twain Forest around Lake Wappello. You can go to the Missouri Dept of Conservation web site and get a little more info. We killed 6 one weekend at Schell Osage Wildlife area but my understanding is they're all killed out now.

Yeah I saw that about Ft. Leanord wood. But they dont allow centerfire rifles. And hunting areas will change from day to day and it isnt guided. I was looking for a guided hunt. I found some ranches close by in dixon and southwest of here but I cant get a reply from them.

Sorry, I can't help ya on the guided hunt part. I've always figured the guide business is a racket. I can't see my self waiting on someone else to tell me where and how to shoot. The knowledge is great don't get me wrong.

The only reason I wanted guided is because im not used to hunting anywere but my uncles and his brothers 200 acers. I hunted some other places but I hunted them for many years before I walked around by myself. Some of the ranches I have looked at are 3000 acers and even if they are fenced it wouldnt be hard to get lost on 3000 acers lol.

Well here there is no elk the biggest game we have are deer and we have lots of them. We set state records almost every year! Missouri is one of the top states for whitetail deer. Lost year I think it was like 50,000 deer taken the hole year and a year or so ago hunters donated over 80 tons of deer meat to the needy!

I know you were joking. I am one of thoughs guys who jokes on the forum to lol. I found a guy local he is about 30 mins from me. He has 1500 acers to hunt and group rates are lowered. My family paid $175 per hunter to hunt in arkansas "200 miles away" this is $250 "max" and its 30 mins away. And he will probly lower prices for bigger groups. Its fully guided and meals and all that. It is a good deal!

Snipe.....It is called the "MARK TWAIN NATIONAL FOREST!!! In the state of Missouri. Now the hunting is FREE.

The hill country in Northeast Arkansas also has a few wild hogs.

There is a place down below Steeville, Missouri that charges a fee to hunt wild hogs and purebred Russian Hogs as well.

I can assure you that the Feral hog problems in and around Ft. Leonard Wood are not all shot out. There are a lot of them! As I live 5 Miles from the Front gate of the post I Know. Now, as to hunting them: You don't need a centerfire rifle. The fort is densely forested. The hunting areas will Most difinately be thick. So a 12 Ga. With buck shot is the best bet. As to Hunting areas changing, Well that part of the deal. The Hogs are not Confined to the Fort, As there is no Fences to hold them in. They make a mess of farmers fields. Expecially creek bottom fields. If you can find where the hogs are, I'm quite certain that you could get permission to hunt them. There was talk of the Conservation department setting a season Etc. But the folks around want them gone regardless of what the Department thinks. I don't know why the Dept. would get involved. As they are not natural, Rather they are hogs that where set loose when a Hunting club went bankrupt.

You don't need a guide. Get out there and do it yourself. You'll learn a few things about the land and yourself. Besides You can't hardly get lost in Missouri. I myself have never been lost in the Mark Twain National Forest, "JUST POWERFULL CONFUSED FOR A DAY OR TWO" lol
