Hunting Gear - Describe the Best Customer Service You Have Had!!

Maybe this should be a "Sticky"!

I will go first (obviously) - describe issues, problems or questions you have had and how you got GREAT customer service!

Lacrosse Boots - I had a pair of boots that began to separate after 2 years use. I sent photos and a polite letter to them - and they gave me a RA#... I shipped the boots back and within a week I had a brand new pair... they even let me upsize from an 11 to a 12! Five stars for Lacrosse.

Meopta Optics - I have a pair of 8x56 binoculars (they are criminally good!) and they came in a very nice, soft sided carrying case. No velcro here - there is a small plastic clasp that broke (my fault - I dropped pack from the stand with the case and binos inside). I emailed Meopta and got an immediate response - we will send you a new case!!! Five stars for Meopta!

Bass Pro Shops - I wanted a Savage 220f shotgun and was having a hard time getting one... I contacted the special order folks at BPS shops and they went into action immediately, giving me the option to pick the gun up in Savannah or in Charlotte. Great service and great prices! 5 stars for Bass Pro Shops!

Tru-Glo Bow Sights - I had a bow sight that had a pin alignment issue... after talking with a factory rep, he sent me a new (re-designed) sight with no questions and only asked that I return my old one. I got the new one, installed it and all was good. I sent the old one back like I was asked to do - and a week later - another one showed up... I called and explained what happened and offered to pay to ship it back to them... Nope... for your honesty, they stated, just keep it!!! 5 stars for Tru-Glo.

List your experiences folks!!

Regards and Happy Hunting...

leupold

Every time I've ever called Leupold with a basic question I've been greated and treated like a valued customer.  I never get pawned off just because the rep may not know the answer, they find out for you.  Never have had to use their warranty, but always have had good experience calling about other stuff.

The worst experiences were dealing with Zeiss and Remington.

Add Zen-Ray Optics to this

Add Zen-Ray Optics to this list now.

I lost one of the objective covers for the 8x43ED2's last weekend and have a big trip coming up this weekend.

I emailed their customer service and they have USPS'ed a set to me - will be here tomorrow... no questions asked.

Great, great service.

On another note, if you want a mid range pair of 43's - you have got to try these.... they are stunning and at roughly $400 (or less) they are the best I have ever seen.

Try them - you will not be disappointed. These are Chinese manufactured - please do not let that dissuade you, these are VERY high end glass.

I would stick with the ED2's, however...

I had good experience with

I had good experience with Leupold before when I called to ask a question.  For hunting stuff, I had the best customer service from Cabela's.  Once I couldn't get the manufacturer to help me...they were dysfunctinal so I called Cabela's where I purchased the product.  They intervened on my behalf and got me the part I needed.  I lost a part so it wasn't a warranty issue so they didn't have to help but they did.

Midway USA has good customer service and super fast shipping.  I have ordered on Sunday and got it on Monday.

Cabelas is a good company I

Cabelas is a good company

I have had good support from them and BassPro

I do not mind spending good money on something but I want good support when I do buy

Leupold is a great company - no doubt

The pressure on them is very real however

The Europeans make better glass and are now starting to price some of their scopes very competetively

I do not know what Leupold is going to do but they really have their work cut out for then

Bad enough that the Europeans are taking some market share - they will also see some Chinese competition...

I have some ZenRay binos that are Chinese and they crush the Gold Ring Leupolds - by a long way - it is not even close

I have had a lot of good glass and these are that good....

I guess this is another thread however...

When I was looking for a

When I was looking for a scope for my .270 i compared a lot of scopes and it came down to the Zeiss and the Leupold.  The Leupold, in my opinion, was the better scope.  So I guess Leupold just needs to do what they have doing, buidling quality scopes at a reasonable price.

Man - I am not sure which

Man - I am not sure which Leupold you were comparing to which Zeiss - and I love Leupold - but dollar for dollar I have not seen a Leupold that could hang with a Zeiss.

The Conquest 3-9x40 is $400 and is a stuuning piece of low dollar glass

If you move up to the 3-12x56 Conquest (with a 30mm tube) the images and crystal clear imagery are simply off of the chart.

I have not stayed that close to Leupold the last couple of years and the reason is that manufacturers like Zeiss, Kahles, Meopta and now even Swarovski have moved into this market and have made it very difficult for other manufacturers to compete - particularly if you objectively compare products in head to head comparisons.

When it somes to glass - startling daylight images, crystal clear viewing and superior dim light capabilities rule...and I find that the Euros - again dollar for dollar - rule this market and will likely dictate the way upper end glass purchases go - at least for the forseeable future.

Add to the mix that they now offer mid grade glass and this is even worse for American and Pacific Rim companies - at least in my humble opinion....

Add to this nightmare Zen-Ray...and I am telling you they make some great glass...and it is a hard road for the Nikons and Leupolds of the world.

Again this is one man's opinion and I may be wrong.

Thanks

Jim
