I second that. Hogs are tough, even when hit square, a hog wont go tits up and say game over. The only large hogs I have dropped dead were head shots or broken spines.

Nice video. enjoyed it. Never had a chance to hunt the boar, but they are obviously one tough critter.

Yeah. They all do that. Very few will just drop, but I have done it a few times. You just have to place the sight slightly foward of the shoulder rather than behind it which we all do out of instinct, but both were clean kills and it's their refusal to die that makes that little bit of action at the end. I've seen fatal shots that would drop a deer in it's tracks and have a hog run 100yds before slowing down. That's just who they are and that's why I love to hunt'em and have the utmost respect for them.

Smokin bacon

He obviously isnt partial to "smoked bacon"
I like mine sliced so I use a hog spear these days. Anybody got clips of hog hunting with spear or knife so me and my hubby can pick up some extra tips, we only started a few months back

Did you see the last issue of Boar Hunter Magazine. The front cover had a huge one that was killed by spear and a big article on the inside to go with it.
The guy lays in the snow and waits for them to go by and then jams 'em with it.
These ain't no 200lbs. pigs either.....they're all in the 400 - 500 range.
