Hunting Canada??

As an Australian I know nothing about hunting in Canada. At some stage in the next couple of years I would like to hunt Canada but dont know the first thing about where to start. At the top of my wish list are Bear and Mountain Lion but I am also interested in Deer and smaller game like wolf, bobcats and lynx. I am mainly interested in the predators because in Aus we only have foxes and feral cats as well as Dingoes/feral dogs. Foxes and cats are easily hunted and I have shot many but dogs are harder to locate and I havent got one yet.
Can all the game on my list be hunted in the same area? What area/s would be best and which outfitters would be good to contact? What time of year would be best? And what calibres should I plan on using? Any other info would be handy as well. I am just after a bit of an overview so you dont have to go into too much detail. Thanks for your help, AUSSIE HUNTER

I'll give you my perspective in the east of Canada. Bear, deer, moose, caribou, coyote, small game can be hunted during their specific seasons. Fox, bobcat, lynx, cougar(mountain lion) cannot be hunted, atleast not in Nova Scotia. Hope this helps.

All the Canadian provinces are good hunting grounds. Black bear can be hunted in both the east and the west. If you want to hunt cougar, you should shoot for the western side, particularly British Columbia.

The Yukon offers wolf hunting and Alberta offers both mule deer and whitetail.

You can check out Canadian guides here:

The fall is the best time to hunt since that is when the most seasons are open. Regarding caliber, if you have only one rifle a 30-06 would be my choice to go for this variety of game.
