I have also heard multipul

I have also heard multipul stories about this buck but they all involve Doyle Moss and all of the rumors have been bad on the situation that went on.  But when you involve Moss in anything it is going to get bad.

Here is a better pictures of him.

For those of us who don't know who Doyle Moss is, could you who he is and what he's been doing?

Mossback guide service and videos

Doyle Moss guided Denny Austed last year to the Spider Bull.  Basically his men camped on it for over month from what I heard.  But I don't what else he's in to

All I have ever heard of

All I have ever heard of Doyle Moss is rumors or hearsay but none of it is good.  He has been accused of blocking off roads and trails when he has a hunter in the same area.  From what I have heard the US Forest Service, BLM, and Utah Division of Fish and Game have warned him about his hunting practices and from what I have heard have put him on probation with threats of pulling his guide license.  As far as his hunts they have all been leagle from what I have heard althoe what some would consider unethical.  He has been on a number of hunts in Utah for some of the bigest elk on record and most of the hunts have been on either the govenors tags or a high bidder in auctions.  So most of the trophy elk and deer that have been shot with him as a guide have been shot leaglly outside of regular hunting seasons.  So if you have the money he is the guide to hire.  I know on the Spider Bull that some local people found him the bull just a couple of days before he was killed.  What he paid them has never came out.  The hunter had a 365 day license for an elk anywhere in the state of Utah except for a few areas.  He also used a high power rifle during the muzzleloader hunt but he was allowed to do this with the license that he had so I don't hold any bad feelings towards the hunter just the state of Utah that allowed him to use the rifle during the muzzleloader hunt.

Thanks for the info. I had

Thanks for the info. I had heard/seen stories about the spider bull. What's the state of Utah waiting on if he is blocking roads to prevent other hunters from getting into an area? He shouldn't be allowed to hold a guides license for doing that kind harassment. The guide and anyone involved in that kind of situation should be charged with harassment.

I don't think it's right for someone to basically hunt elk/deer out season so to speak. If they find a bull/buck during archery season, then they should have to hunt the animal with a bow and arrow. Same goes for ML. I understand they pay a lot of money for these tags but it isn't ethical hunting as far as I'm concerned.

The whole spider bull hunt

The whole spider bull hunt left a seriously bad taste in my mouth. That was an amazing animal taken by an army of TOOLS!

It is interesting in that I saw the spider bull in 2005 and my nephew has him on video.  He was strange looking there and I couldn't believe how he went through the trees after he crossed the road that he was on.  They killed him within a half a mile of where I spotted him that year.

On the subject on the buck in question there are some more stories coming out about him but all of them are hard to believe.  Quite possibly there is a video of the hunter getting him.  We'll have to wait and see.

If there's a video of that

If there's a video of that buck, we'll see on one of the hunting shows. Whoever is the highest bidder.

I got that same text a few

I got that same text a few days ago. Didn't think to much about it. I just hope the story isn't true. It seemed to me though that this is being used as a tactic to outlaw outfitters. A lot of people hate Doyle Moss. I don't hate him as long as what he does is legal but I hate the governor tags that are sold every year. Spider Bull left a bad taste in my mouth for MOSSBACK though and the DOW needs to take action against him. In all the stories there has to be partial truth.
