I just found this website. I have had an H. S. Precision take down rifle since 2000 in 270 Winchester. I love it! I have only shot at 2 deer in those four years but each one only required one shot. The last deer I shot was at over 600 yards. I know that is way too far to shoot but I have confidence in my shooting skills and the rifle/scope combination. I have just ordered another barrel for that rifle in 338 Winchester magnum since I am hoping to hunt elk and possibly moose in Alaska. If you can afford it get it!
Heard decent about them. But as always consider a custom gunsmith where you could spend the same or maybe less and get exactly what you want. Most will talk to you and feel you out and suggest changes that fit you.
As the allure of hunting big whitetails becomes more and more a passion for many, we are finding that the recent (historically speaking) popularity of hunting deer from a tree stand is becoming the way to do it. I'll make no statement either for or against that technique here. This will be simply an essay on what I feel are some outstanding rifles for tree stand use.
Before we go even one more step, let's all remember that safety is first and foremost for anyone wanting to hunt...
