How to post photos –

This might be already posted but its a question I see asked a lot so figured I'd throw this out there in case anyone is having trouble posting photos.

If your photo is already online (like in the photo gallery section on (www.BigGameHunt.net)– right click it to get the “properties” copy the long string of characters beginning with “http”.  This is the photo’s URL.  Now go to where you want to post the picture.  If there is an ‘insert image’ icon (on BGH its a ittle picture of a tree), click it and paste the photo URL then hit submit.

If there is no ‘insert image’ icon then go to where you want the image to appear (like in a reply to a forum topic) and paste the URL where you normally type your message.  Type after the URL.  There should be no quotation marks or spaces in the string between  the first bracket and the last bracket.  Got it?  Give it a try.  If that doesn’t work, give me a shout and I’ll try to help you out.

Mike is correct, you can post photos in this manner. We did not explain this method, since we assumed most folks would upload with each post, story, etc. This method does save on server space, since it basically re-uses the image that has already been uploaded.

One additional tip we'd like to suggest, is to put in a width designation, so the photo does not "spill" over the edges of forum table. We suggest 500 or 600 for a width, leave the height blank and the photo will scale properly to the width.  The width is entered in the pop-up window where you enter your image URL.

Thanks for the upload tips. I

Thanks for the upload tips. I had no idea there were other ways to upload and possibly make it easier for us and better for the forum. I only learned how to upload at all a few months ago so I'm still in the learning process all the time.

Glad to help.

Glad to help. This is useful if you want to add a photo to a furum reply.

The width limit is a good idea too. I’ll try to remember that.
