This years season can't come

This years season can't come soon enough. I don't know who wants to go more, me or my hunting dogs. They've been howling and barking and trying to dig out for the past few weeks. I loaded up the dog box last week for some much needed repairs and they thought they were headed to the woods. Still another month or so for me... Confused

My cousin was in iraq and he said it was so boring that he weightlifted 4 hours a day (he was a guard at a prison.)  And pretty much the rest of the time he was on the computer except when he went out on missions or w/e.

it can be boring some times.

it can be boring some times.  I do jiu jitsu 2 hours a day, 6 days a week.  A lot more free time this time around.  It wasn’t like this the last two times I deployed.  This is the second time I’m missing archery season because of a deployment that’s one of the worst parts about it.

That sucks that you have to miss archery season again.

Hey, just wanted to say thanks for serving and sorry you have missed so much hunting. It's been a long time for me now, decades in fact,  but being stationed overseas can be a bummer in that regard, family, etc. I enjoyed my time in other ways though I guess... no real complaints.

I have a nephew heading for Afghanistan very shortly.

Take care.

Just doing my job

Thank you guys for your support…  Yes it does suck missing hunting season even more so now with my son old enough to hunt and I can’t take him.  There are two pluses to the military, the first is that I get to hunt as a resident in the states I get stationed in as well as my home state where I pay taxes (CO).  The second is it gives me a chance to build up points in Colorado, now I have 6 points for deer, elk, bear and antelope.  Another 8 ½ years I can retire at the age of 40 and do nothing but hunt, at least that’s part of my plan.

Just doing my job

I've often wished I had stayed in and made a career of it. Best job I ever had in a lot of ways, and also got to travel... just didn't pay squat back then, LOL.

I'd sure love to see that retirement check coming in every month now though... and could have been collecting for some years, ha ha. Oh well... did pretty good anyway, just have wait a bit more to start collecting a full benefit.
