I'm really interested in your Ibex hunt. Have you gotten any scouting done yet or been able to see any?
The elk license I drew this year is basically once in a lifetime as well but it sure is tough getting as much time as I would like. I've always hunted the same areas so real scouting wasn't needed until now. It takes me over 2 hours to get there and then learn where to start.
Still 76 days to 3rd season in Colorado. Seems like a long way off still but those are our tags and no other choice. Small game is not an option this year at least not before elk/deer season. At least next spring I will be bear hunting in Idaho so it will not be as long between hunts next year. Only 268 days to spring bear!
Everyone has different ideas about trophy pictures. Looks around and you will see "long armers," "set behinders," "big cheesers," and "blood covered brutes." I have a few tips to keep your trophy pictures from being laughers or worse yet just plain gross.
#1 Clean it up. Try to avoid bullet holes, gut pile, mass amounts of blood, and the tongue sticking out. You don't want your big buck to look like a angry 1st grader with his tongue out or a MMA fighter during the 3 round.
#2 Long arming...
