How many acres does everybody hunt on?
I hunt on 40 acres.
I basically hunt on 3 privately owned areas. One is 165 acres. Another is 150 acres. The lasr one is 300 acres.
Yeah, I hunt about a 100 acres less than you of private land. Some public land around pretty close but it is over hunted. It doesn't take a lot of land if the land you hunt is in the right place, for sure.

That sounds like a pretty darn good set up. I wish I had any amount of private land to hunt. The hook-ups I've had in the past were pretty awesome and I wish that they were still around. Even if they were just little pieces of property. Are your spots very far apart or are they pretty close to eachother. I don't know which one I'd rather have. Seems like there are advatages either way.
The 165 and the 150 run together. The 300 is probably about 3 miles from those 2 properties. also since I wrote this I picked up another property that is about 15 acres. It doesn't hold alot of deer but it is a great transitioning area. This property is a major travel corridor for alot of deer. I also have around a 25-30 acre area I can hunt on but I just haven't had the time to scout it out yet. This area will probably have to wait until next year. I don't own any of these properties. They are all owned by either friends or family.
I own 21 ac., my parents have a 115 ac., and I work for a company that allows the employee's to hunt on about 900 ac.
I still have not gotten lucky enough to get hunting access on private land. I guess that means I've got a lot of acres to hunt on though.
You need to come out west. We don't think in acres but in square miles. My elk tags this year cover around 45,000 square miles here in Colorado and about the same in Utah. Now my deer tag here in Colorado is only good on about 60 square miles but my tag in Utah covers a good 400 square miles.
I hunt public land which cover millions of acres across the state of oregon, since more than 50% of the land here is publicaly owned I have a few chioces.
I pay my taxes like a good citizen. So therfore, I have thousands of acres to hunt on. I just have to share it.
