How far do the members here drive to there hunting spots?
My stomping/hunting grounds is a 5hr drive from home.
I hunt three different farms. The one is right out my front door, the other two are within 10-15 minute drives. I'd like to make an out of state hunt one of these years, maybe Missouri or Indiana for a 10-12 day hunt.
I have a 2 1/2 hour drive to my lease.
I'm about 5 min away from muzzle loader and archery and its about 15min for rifle, I drive 2 1/2 hrs back home every year for whitetails and hunt the all the way there!
Locally, I drive a half an hour to an hour to my regular hunting spots. Every year I also travel 800 miles to hunt the family farm with my cousins in Penna.
Well I guess if a buck was big enough I would drive any where I could even just to have a chance!
I have always hunted right here in my home state of Ohio and I've never ventured more than 1/2 hour away from home. But depending on the circumstances I would drive further if presented the right opportunity.
Since I'm trying to kill one in every state, I travel a fair amount for whitetails. If visiting someone, I'll gladly drive to the remote corners of their state with public land to go hunting.
That's a cool goal Ex, have you killed one in WI yet? If not I could put you on some really good public ground here in western Wisconsin. There are a few whoppers shot every season off of these spots. Just a thought
