how far do you go????

when im deer hunting in new hampshire, i like to find a nice spot to sit and hunt that spot all day . ??? is, some of my spots are only 1/2 mile from the main roads ,some are less ,some are 1 1/2 miles in, how far do you deer hunters like to go in??? bill

how far do you go????

I walk all day, sneekin and peekin. I may or may not go in a straight line so the distance will vary, I have been known to go 4-6 miles in before turning around.

how far do you go????

sometimes as little as 500 yards.... Sometimes several miles... it all depends on where I am hunting, previous activity, and weather conditions. Fresh snow? I am walking and stalking as far it takes.

Hunting Tip: Trail Camera Placement

When placing a trail camera don't just look for a well used trail. What you want to do is look for a freshly used trail off by itself that goes from a north facing ridge, thick forest, brushy knob or some other similar bedding area to a food source. Don't forget water sources. Especially in the summer months the deer need water so look for a good trail going down too a creek surrounded by thick cover and place the camera 100 yards up from the water source. Scent control is very important...
