How Far

Some of the guys on this site do quite a bit of traveling to hunt.  What is the farthest you have ever gone for a hunt???  Within the US, I have traveled from Washington State to Mississippi and Lousiana.  Outside the US, I have hunted in Germany and Africa.

For a normal hunt, or special

For a normal hunt, or special one?  I fly every other year back to Vermont to hunt whitetails with my Dad.  It's about 2,800 miles round trip.

The farthest we have gone so

The farthest we have gone so far is from here in Colorado all the way down into south Florida. Mapquest shows it as 2,100 miles each way and probably a little more coming back as we took a diferent route to hit more states for my son as he had never been to many of them. We drove all the way there and back so the miles are accurate. In the last year and a half we have also drive to north west Oregon coast as well for fishing so have crossed the nation at an angle twice. We did drive over the river into Washington as well but just turned around as I just wanted to say I've been there for now. Maybe another special trip later on though.

travel

From Colorado I've traveled to Montana, Oregon, Washington, Wyoming, and New Mexico, but not all in one season and not every year.  Out of state I've hunted Montana the most. Due to cost reasons for big game hunting I've been staying here in state for the past three years.  Non-resident tags in other states are getting too pricey for me.  Been telling myself - I' lucky enough to live in Colorado where everyone else comes to hunt big game, why do I need to go out of state to hunt big game??? Confused

I've traveled to Alaska once and Idaho twice. Also have hunted Kansas, Maine, New Hampshire, New York, Connecticut, West Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia & Kentucky. Some out-of state licenses are very expensive.
