I haven't paid attention I guess.....Is it an archery only season? I'll look into it, but that sounds like fun. By the way, GREAT DEER!!!
Great Buck ![]()
Definitely Love chasing them Turkeys. Lots of 'em! I will be trying out that new season
Humpin Buck - KDWP added archery only onto the Regular season. First 10 days before the reg. season. Starts April 1.

I plan to go during the archery season. My daughter who is 10 and has never hunted says she wants to go with me. I figure it will be good to expose her to hunting during archery turkey season because there will be no loud boom and we can sit in a blind together where she can sit in a chair and not have to worry about moving a little.
The big question for me is what blind to get. I really don't want to spend 300+ and have seen some ameristep blinds on amazon.com that are under a 100. Any thoughts?
I bought one similar to this http://www.sportsmansguide.com/cb/cb.asp?a=277914 and didn't have much luck with it. Couple years ago I hunted with a buddy in a Double Bull Matrix with couple decoys close by. I bought one the next week
It does cost a bundle, but I believe its worth every penny! Especially last turkey season taking my 6 year old on opening day. We had our bird shortly after sunup ![]()
Not saying you need the Double Bull, but they offer every advantage. Make sure you look for these things:
1. The fabric needs to have a dull finish, preferablly cotton. Helps cut down on noise in the wind and setup. the dull finish does not "shine" in the sun like most blinds available.
2. No velcro or noisy zippers. Self explanatory! The Matrix has a silent 360 degree shooting window that can be adjusted undetected for any situation.
3. Black interior. You dress in black and you are 100% concealed inside. You can get up and do a dance. You will not be seen.
4. Bottom flap to help contain your scent.
5. Tie downs on all 4 sides to keep motionless in the wind.
6. Easy and Silent setup
7. Plenty of room to have you and someone else comfy. I've hunted several times with 3 men in the blind and had plenty of room.
Good Luck ![]()
Here's a link to Double Bull just in case you want to check them out.

Redrider, thanks. I know the double bull is the premier blind, just didn't want to spend that much, but...... It doesn't do any good to spend a few dollars only to find that the blind is not worth it and then have to go out and buy another one.
I agree, cause that's exactly what I did.
,) If you can swing it you won't be disappointed ![]()
Havn't tried it for deer season yet, but have had almost everything show up and not be to bothered by the setup during turkey season. Coyotes, deer, coons, opposom, skunks, cows...........
Hmmm....don't hear much about using a blind for coyote hunting, but I wonder if they wouldn't be a good tool to conceal scent and movement?
Here's a little fellow one of my sons got out in extreme western Kansas.

AAWWWwww.....look at that little guy!!! JUST KIDDING!!! That is awesome. I've got the availability to some ground way out West where there are plenty of Mule Deer but haven't taken.......or should I say been allowed (probably a more accurate description!!) the time to go out there and try it out. I've never shot a Muley. I'd love to though. FINE DEER for that young man!!!
