I started scouting yesterday for spring turkey season!

I didn't know a guy had to scout for turkey anymore. Anymore, you can't swing a dead cat without hitting a turkey in the Eastern half of KS!! MAN..... the population in the last 6-10 years on turkey has gone through the roof. It's unbelievable!! Farmers around here are pretty easy to get permission from to hunt turkey because they are so hard on a crop field. Many times they will tell you to shoot 2 for yourself, 1 for them, and leave a couple laying out there to feed the coyotes!!!

If the state didn't worry so much about the tag $$ that is generated they would probably shorten the season to about 3 weeks and go with a daily bag limit of 1 Tom per day. If the numbers keep increasing like they have, it wouldn't surprise me at all.

I get a pretty good idea during deer season where to setup for Turkey, but you're right, they are everywhere.
Maybe you guys could come up and go for a Tom in our parts

My nurse practitioner said the recovery time on this surgery im having is 3 months and even then I probably won't wanna shoot a gun :( I think I am going to have to change that idea

Some good stories so far.

I was able to get a good bowkill buck, and a doe for the freezer. Seemed like season went so fast though. Can't believe it's already over. But shed season is starting here shortly!!!

Do any Turkey Hunting?

Here he is. I've seen him a few times in velvet, and was able to get some video footage and game cam pics of him. I arrowed him on the eve. of Oct 21st. I was fortunate enough to have my wife with me as well. She got it all on video too, which was pretty cool.

Yes, I do love to turkey hunt. There seems to be more and more every year. I like the new archery season. Sounds like I'll give it a try. How about yourself?
