Looking for any info on Custer national forest, have not hunted there but have heard some good things. Willing to pay resonable tresspass fee in surrounding ag. land if necessary to have a good hunting experience. I am also heading to Whitefish for Thanksgiving so that is also an option...any help woud be helpful!

Whitefish is mostly whitetailed deer country, and tough hunting in the big timber up there. Custer National Forest is a pretty broad area, but central and eastern montana have pretty good deer hunting in general.
