I'm getting a hound to run cats and bears..(i'll be running my single dog with friends that have hounds).is it possible to do this with me owning indoor house cats and the dog living indoors? Is the dog able to seperate the house cats from the wild cats they'd be chasing?

That should not be a problem. The" house dog" has already caught the "house cat" as far as he's concerned. But the prey instinct kicks in when the prey does not want to submit.
Same applies to humans too: Nice wife at home but got to get out there and dig in the garbage ! 
I don't have a clue...
