hey guys. i am farely new to this. i was just kind of wondering what the best baits/scents/attractants to use. i would prefer to make it at home. i hear some of the store bought stuff doesn't work well. any info will help. thanks
For feral hogs, just use left over food and dump it near a deer feader that's been working for a while. The raccoons may get it first, but if the area is hot with hogs, you'll be money. Blacktailer also had a great idea.
I usually do the spot and stalk approach... drive around or hike around until I find them. Of course, I like this style for pretty much everyhting I hunt. It's extremely more difficult than blind hunting in my area, but it sure makes a good kill worth it for me.
I've spent countless hours either on my hands and knees or bent over, messing up my back, looking for blood. One such instance I remember most was a hog hunt a few years ago in Mississippi. I had never shot a hog so when I poked a hole in this guy; I was determined to find him. Wearing snake leggings, I crawled on my hands and knees through the briars and the brambles and bushes where a rabbit wouldn't go. I found a spot of blood here and there but never the pig. And lucky for me, I didn't find...
