Hi,new member..got a lean one!

Hi,just joined the forum been good reading so far.
I finally got a nice 6 point yesterday and skinned it today. It was the hardest deer i ever skinned lol.I couldn't find a bit of fat on it anywhere which is hard to
believe at this time of year. Then when i was skinning the hind quarters i saw why ,it had 5-6 bb's that looked like birdshot in his rear end!!Some idiot must have shot him with a 410 maybe .

No it didn't really ruin any the bbs went in maybe 1/2in,i cleand up all the blood clots in the area and it looked pretty good.My feeling is this deer would have a hard time making it through the winter with absoultly no fat reserves at this time of year.

Hard to say if he would have made the winter but he could have been hard at rutting and had all the fat burned off him. I have shot healthy bucks that were extra lean as well.
