Hi! I've Never Been Hunting, I'm 24/F. I've wanted to go.

So if someone were to look at me and talk to me I would definately not seem like the type of girl that goes hunting. I don't know a lot about hunting. But all I know is this, I like the idea, I like guns, and I like meat, fresh meat. I have never been hunting, only fishing. I have a gun and I'm willing to get a hunting license and get a simple reasonable rifle, if I find the right group or people to join first. I have no hunter friends. Nobody in my family or friends, well one of my friend's knows I want to hunt. But nobody else does, and if I were to tell them they would probabby laugh at me, or freak. I'm from the Bay Area California. I don't know any or heard of many women hunters either. I think I have two things against me that kind of keep me in the dark. I'm a woman, I'm asian, and I'm young. lol. I know in society when we think hunter we probabbly think, rugged looking, rigid, hairy guys in their camoflouge outfits, and I'm sure if real hunters were to talk to me they would laugh. But I'm serious about trying out hunting. I want to go deer hunting and I'm not afraid to get dirty. I touch dead animals a lot in my previous jobs, and current job. So blood, guts, eyes, bullets don't bother me. I'm not a great shooter but I'd like to meet a group of nice, easy going, people out their that might want to give me a piece of their guidance or advice. I live in the East Bay, CA. So I'd ideally like to stay close to home, I would go as far as Monteray or Humboldt. I have no hunting equipment, and yes..I am on a budget so I wouldn't be looking to buy advanced hunting gear. A simple rifle, a box of bullets, orange vest, earplugs, plenty of patience, and my sense of adventure is all I can give. So if you want to chat IM me or email me at piratesjett@yahoo.com, or IM blueorbital83 on yahoo. Thanks!

hunting

I just wanted to check and see if I got any replies. 20 views is quite good, but it's really sad that nobody wants to say anything or give me any kind of advice, it goes to show that society is in a way pretty shallow.

Hi! I've Never Been Hunting, I'm 24/F. I've wanted to go.

Most people are going to be wary of complete strangers wanting to go hunting with them. I would suggest posting a picture here(so youre not a complete stranger) and taking a hunters safety course and then look for hunting
partners or groups. Just an idea....

I think it is great you want to give hunting a try. Welcome to the site Thumbs up I f you have any questions that we can help with let us know. I think the problem you may have is the number of hunters on here that live close to you. If you were in Kansas we'd take you out and show you a few things. Good Luck and keeps us informed on your quest, and don't give up trying to get out there and get started. There are many rewards other than the kill to have on your hunts!

wth_girl,

There are other hunt forums like this one that are state/regional. Find a few and register there. Become a "regular" and get to know most everyone there. There's always someone willing to help a newbie who shows the right attitude and patience.

I think it is great you want to hunt. Pick your teacher carefully. You could become the prey. A single pretty girl wondering around the woods with a single fella could spell trouble. If your ever in Iowa look me up. I'm coyote hunting this winter. It has been 20 years since I did that in Wyoming. I'm also over 50. I have children older than you.

I think it's great that you want to get into hunting. I would like my wife to get into it as well. she has been with me when I'v taken a deer and she was verry interested , but she said that she probable couldn't do it her self.
Keep plugging away and mabe join a shooting club, agreat place for info and mabe meet some people that would like to take an interested person under there wing to try hunting.
Just my 2 cents F.K.

Hi! I've Never Been Hunting, I'm 24/F. I've wanted to go.

It's great that you want to start hunting. I wish that my wife had an interest. There is some great advice from the others and I would strongly recommend that you don't go into the woods with someone that you don't know. I'd hate to see your story on CSI. Take some time and try to get to know the people that you'll be hunting with prior to going out. I think that most of the individuals in the hunting community are good people but there are wierdos everywhere so be carefull. I moved to AZ from Ohio and I've hunted mostly deer and small game. It's become an expensive addiction, but I love being out in the field or in the mountains. Good luck with your quest.

Hi! I've Never Been Hunting, I'm 24/F. I've wanted to go.

It is Great that you want to learn to hunt. My wife and I both hunt Archery and Rifle. More so Archery. There are lots of women that hunt these days. You can learn a lot from watching the Outdoor Chan. and Versus Chan. on cable TV. But nothing replaces the hands on experience you get from others. Try joining a local gun club or going to an indoor range. Weather it be a rifle range or archery range. Archery Clubs are family oriantated, and will teach you from the begining. They have used products to purchases and courses that you can take. DVD's and Videos that you can rent. Just a vast amount of info out there. Hunting is something that takes skill and lots of patience. Good luck!

Keep trying dont give up! try Field and stream and other hunting mags. try more web sites to find folks in your area people will hunt with you but its hard to just call someone up and go after big game, birds and such is a little easier. but you dont want some crazy out there all loud and such and with a loaded rifle.if your in az look up my wife and I we'll take you out.
