Yeah, it's a controlled draw unit in Oregon. I don't rank it very high in my data sets, mostly because it's a really high pressure unit. The draw odds are good because they allow a lot of hunters in that unit. Chaddrick, if you've been saving your points, you might want to consider a tougher to draw unit. Good deer numbers, but about 6 hunters per square mile of public is more than most people want to deal with on a limited draw hunt. Only leaves about 0.2 bucks per hunter, which isn't real hot. But if you just want to give mule deer a shot in Oregon, like you said your draw odds aren't bad and the success rate is decent.

Thank you everyone,

I mean my thoughts are that im only 18 yrs old SO i do wanna try out Mule deer to see how it is ya no??
Bcuz down the road i can still get enough points to draw a decent tag in OR and be young
i know theres alot of ppl that go to Heppner to hunt
"BIG" in the Heppner unit doesnt happen much if at all from what i have heard
i love hunting, im still young so getting the MONSTER buck isnt #1 on my list yet lol

P.S. my name is Chad "Chaddrick" is a nickname haha

Then go for it. But you might have better luck getting information regarding where exactly to go and not go in the Northwest forums.

Another option for you might be the Starkey unit, it takes about 1 pt to draw and there is a lot less people. I think there only giving out 990 tags this year and when i hunt there i see bucks all over the place. mostly smaller 3pts but have seen some really nice deer up high. 63% of the unit is public land so theres alot of access.

Starkey

I usually hunt Starkey unit almost every year when I hunt elk in Oregon. I have seen some really nice mule deer over the years but seems like the total number of deer have been dropping from what I usually see. Have you noticed this as well numbnutz?
