help (im tring to pick a new bow)

Hello im tring to find a new hunting bow.Ive been looking at hoyts razortec and viportec bows.Im just not sure because ive been shooting the same bow for 5 yrs.and there are so many new things out there.I dont mind paying but i want the best bow i can get for around $500.00..Im looking for a short, fast, yet dependable bow. Any suggestions would be great. Also im thinking of changing over to carbon arrows.I would like some input on cabon arrows verses aluminum. Thanks KENT

help (im tring to pick a new bow)

Kent, my hunting partner just bought a Razortec and loves it, and he is a die-hard Hoyt guy. Myself I bought a BowTech last year, (Extreme Solo which is not available anymore) :( . But the Extreme VFT that BowTech has come out with is a shorter very fast bow. Not sure on a price, but it is probably around $600. As for the carbon vs. alum.? I went to carbons when I bought my new bow and will never go back. To me the advantages of carbon in lightness, strength and durability is incomparable.

Hoyt ,bowtech, and mathews

Decision, decisions ,decisions.man there all nice bows.I think im gonna have to ride around to local bow shops and get a feel for all three before i decide.Heck for that kinda money it pays to make sure your getting the one you want.I like the feel of the hoyt razortec but other than ebay i dont really know alote about the other ones. When i bought my old one it was top of the line just 5 yrs ago .The adds for it said it would shoot 230 fps now some of the new ones shoot 330 fps its hard to believe that in just 5 yrs my old bow is so out dated.Ive killed alot of deer with that old bow though.
As for carbon arrows.Im wondering about penatration .I know im prolly just stupid but do they pass through a deer as good as my old trusty aluminum?

SHOPPING FOR THE RIGHT BOW IS GIVING ME A HEADACHE!!!

They Hoyt Xtec is a sweet bow. I'm in the process of trying to decide between that or the Matthews Outback.
I currently shoot a Hoyt MT Sport. Nothing too fancy, but it's all i need to hunt with... decisions, decisions, decisions...
I still prefer aluminum arrows myself.

You might not believe this BIGE but just yesterday I went to one of our local bow shops.I got to shoot the hoyt viportec, xtec and just when i thought i had decided to go with the xtec the man brought out a mathews outback .( it was love a first shot).Dont get me wrong the other 2 were real nice But the outback felt just right with carbon and aluminum arrows .Im going back friday to set up my new bow and have fine tuned for my draw length.IM also going to stay with my aluminum arrows. Trust me before you buy the hoyt just try the outback. ITS ONE BAD ASS BOW
thanks KENT

BIGE The bow cost me $599.00 but buy the time i finish ill prolly have $800.00 tied up in it.Im going with a drop away rest .i saw one of those on a bow at the bow shop and really liked it. I havent looked at sights or a new quiver yet.I like a single pin ajustable sight. Really its been so long sense i put a new bow together i want to take my time picking what brands to buy.I tell you what though you really need to shoot the outback before you buy the hoyt.I guess old habits are hard to brake but but i still like a single cam bow.Hoyt can say what they wont to but the new cam and a half is still a 2 cam bow. What sold me was the mathews bow was just as fast if not faster,it only has 1 cam ,and to me just felt better than the hoyt.I was impressed that neither bow had any vibration. There both great bows but please try out a outback i think youll be glad you did
thanks again KENT

One thing I noticed about the Outback that really got my attention was how smooth the draw is on it. It is unbelieveable. It seems to balance nicely and is very light & short. I am kindof leaning in that direction... if i decide to take the plunge. Our local proshop is selling them for $679.99! That is with no accessories. I would probably be switching most of my current stuff over to it... like my whisker biskit, archers choice sights, & quiver.
Hmmm.... what to do....
Good luck with it..
