Help? Hog hunting in Missouri

I live in southeast Missouri and am planning to go hog hunting sometime in the next couple of weeks, but have a couple of questions. Does anyone know if there any restrictions on hunting hogs during turkey season? I was told by a conservation agent that there are no restrictions on hogs whatsoever due to them not being indigenous, but had someone else tell me that I can't go during turkey season. Can anyone clarify?

"You see a ferrel hog during any other season SHOOT IT ON SIGHT!!"

That is a direct quote taken from the missouri game book page 30. Link from here

Thats tellin me you are more than welcome to hunt them any time of year during any season or non season.

If you have a turkey tag and are turkey hunting and see one yes you can shoot it on site. Can you walk around in the woods durring turkey season with a gun and hunt hogs without a turkey tag no. Everything else is closed while turkey season is going on, coyotes etc.

During the youth and spring turkey hunting seasons, to kill feral hogs you must:

possess a valid, unfilled turkey hunting permit
only use methods allowed for taking turkeys.

Again directly from the Game commission book. Sorry I read a little further.

So in other words you have to follow the guidelines and weapon use restrictions that are for turkey season and hold an unfilled turkey tag to be out there hog hunting.. I guess that stops (supposidly) illegal turkey hunting. Hope this helps

Here is the link as well

When hunting hogs in MO, if it is turkey or deer season, you must have an unfilled deer or turkey tag. There will be a segment in the deer or turkey manual from the conservation department. You must also use a method of firearms that is legal for that season. In spring turkey season you must use a shotgun or bow. as well as use turkey loads and have a plug in your gun to limit to 3 shells in combination magazine and chamber.

Is there an echo in here? The guy above you just said that

To the O.P.-I think your friend was probably just mistaken and thinking about coyotes b/c during turkey season is the only time you can't hunt them.
