Help choosing a rifle!!

I am buying a rifle that i will be using on whitetail, mule, caribou and moose every once in a while. I want a 270. win because i grew up using my dads 270. win and i only used it on moose and caribou so i know its capible. I own a 300. wsm and thats what i use on moose and black bear but i want a 270. win and i dont know what model i want it in. i have a couple options and i want your opinion on them. Here are my choices :
- Browning A-Bolt Medallion
- Browning X-Bolt Medallion
- Weatherby Vanguard Deluxe
- Winchester Model 70 Sporter Deluxe or Winchester Model 70 Super Grade

What do you think of these rifles. If you had to choice between these and only these rifles which one would it be.

The Winchester is the only rifle that I would choose from that group as its the only one made in the USA. The others were made in asia or japan or something.

Why not look at a Ruger or a Kimber also?

All of those are fine choices and I would not be unhappy with any of them. I would probably also take the model 70 just out of personaly preference. The Kimber is an especially nice option if you can afford one.

The Weatherby Vanguard Deluxe is an awesome rifle. You can hardly tell it apart the the Mark V model. It's accuracy right out of the box is great.
Just do some looking around the Weatherby forums....

Welcome to BGH Matt.

Looking at your list, I would say any one you like would be fine for what you want. The bigger question would be what cartridge to get it in!

You just can't go wrong with any of the choices. Your caliber choice may make one better over the others. Thumbs up

My vote would be for the Winchester of all of those. BUT, that's just based on my initial impressions of the new Winchesters and no actual experience. I'd sure give them a try though.

Off that list I would go with the Winchester. Not on the list i am a fan of the Ruger line. But that being said I have a .270 Howa 1500 and it is a great shooter and will not break the bank.

I agree with both Savage99 and Goosehunter Jr. I would go with the Winchester Model 70 above any on your list, if it is a the older pre-'64 CRF action or the 1991 reintroduced CRF mauser type action. That's the rifle (featherweight version) I use for all my biggame hunting and it's a .270 Win. I also say that if the Winchester is unobtainable for you then I agree to consider Ruger or even Savage. All the others on that list you're just paying high $$$ for a name.
