Welcome!

Welcome to the site. I can't answer your question about the muzzleloader. Plenty of Penn guys here that can answer, though. Sit tight, someone will chime in.

Welcome to the sight. Not sure about PA but in NY a muzzleloader is defined as a weapon loaded through the barrell and shoot a single projectile.

muzzleloader

Here's a link to the regulations for PA.

http://www.pgc.state.pa.us/pgc/cwp/view.asp?a=460&q=150349

It looks like the in-line is fine for the early "muzzleloader" season but is not legal for the late "flintlock" season. The late "flintlock" is for traditional flintlock ignition guns i.e. 1800's era open ignition type guns or their reproductions. Look in the Big Game part off the reg brochure. You need Adobe Acrobat to open the files....it's free.

short answer is NO, it is NOT legal for the season going on right now.
but your new muzzleloader IS legal for the october antlerless season next year, if nothing changes, and ofcourse in regular rifle seaosn it is legal too.

have fun with it and shoot alot, you'll be ready for next fall!

Your answer is NO NO NO...During the late season in Pa it HAS to be a flintlock rifle...Any other time you CAN USE a inline rifle....I know it sucks, but what can we do..Have fun and be safe.. Thumbs up

Its a little late but these guys gave you the right advice. You could have used a crossbow during the late flintlock deer season but in-lines are out. I also hunt in 3 d......How did you make out during the late season.....if you made it out there.
