Cut to the chase

The story (and its a GOOD one) and many more pictures will follow as I get caught up around home and at work after having ten fabulous days off to chase mule deer.

This pic of me and Arrowflipper pretty much says it all:

Congratulations on a great

Congratulations on a great looking buck!!!! I'm glad you guys had a great time and I look forward to reading the full report when you get it up. Was Arrowflipper hunting as well or just along with you for the hunt? I know he usually archery hunts and I don't remember.

Good job on your second western success.

yep

Yep, I was there to hunt.  I didn't take a buck like Mike's, but I got a decent 3X3 muley.  Did anyone notice that Mike's was a hybred?  Mule deer body with whitetail antlers.  It's fairly common in the area we hunted as there are lots of both muleys and whitetails.  It was a very nice buck!!  I'm sure you will all enjoy Mike's story and pictures.  What a hunt we had!!!!!!

sure did

I did notice something odd about his buck. the first  thing i saw was what looked like a muley face but whitetail antlers. I tried to comment on it when I first saw it but my computer kicked me online. I now thatI'm back I see you had already pointed it out. I'm glad you guys had a great time and Congrats to both of you on your bucks. I'm looking forward to the full write up now.

I alomst said something, but

I alomst said something, but when it's a 3x3, the mule deer and whitetail racks are pretty similar anyway.  If you were to see a 4th point one one side, without the back one forking, then I would say that it's a "whitetail rack".

Either way, great buck!!!  Congrats to you both!!

btw neither of those two are my buck!

Oh by the way - neither of those TWO bucks on the ATV with Arrowflipper opening morning are my buck.  Yep - you might just say that we found some mule deer!

By all accounts we were blessed with MORE than our fair share of sucess.  There were a lot of other hunters in the area and I think that the vast majority (80% ??? 90% ????) of them went home empty handed as I very nearly did.....
