No. That's a thick paste. It's made for cleaning and treating the barrel at the end of the day. What you want for between-shots wiping of the barrel is a liquid. Something like this: http://tinyurl.com/359smd

Although, actually, the old-timers just spit on a patch to wipe the barrel between shots, so you don't really NEED any kind of commercial product.

Dawn dishwashing soap and water is all you need for between shots wipe out.

Actually Don, Bore Butter is great for in between shot cleaning. It seasons your barrel providing a little better speed and also aids in cleanup after a little while of shooting (slicks the barrel so it doesnt foul as much). It will also help with reloading too which will ALWAYS come in handy! With my .50 cal I use a 45 cal brush and a bore butter patch over it and scrub out the barrel with about 15 or so swipes inbetween shots. The cleaning solution is good as well but it will not aid in seasoning the barrel which is something you should always do.
