Have youguys heard of mossbergs new 30/30

Check out mossbergs new 464 lever action 30/30. It was just introduced. It sells for 355.83 online. I was looking at getting a marlin 336W lever action 30-30, but I like how this gun looks alot more than the marlin. Here is a link to the gun.

I think I would like the side eject of the marlin better. Other wise mossbergs are good guns.

I know mossberg makes good guns but I've got to say if you want a .30-30 model 94 look around pawn shops and anyplace else that sells used guns, especialy newspaper adds. Its no problem for me to find one for around 200-400 dollars and you may find one made after they adapted them for mounting a scope and before the put a friggin safety on them.

Pretty nice looking rifle. I wonder if it's an angle eject? Looks like scope blocks on it.

8.8 pounds empty with no scope? can that be right?
Loaded with 7 rounds of ammo and scoped with a sling, that rifle would be close to 10 pounds. That seems heavy for a "fast handling, Brush gun".

Okay,
I just looked at the Rifle link again and noticed that they also listed the weight as 6.7 pounds which seems more correct. I wonder what the 8.8 pound weight is referring to.

I guess I just find it to be disappointing that a firearms manufacturer comes out with a "new" rifle and it''s a 30-30 lever. Way to go Mossberg! Way to be innovative! Give me a break, I can't believe they put this rifle on the cover of latest Shooting Times magazine.

With the rise of cowboy action shooting, I think it is wise for them to offer a 30-30 lever-action. Uberti has been making a killing on the cowboy action scene and mossberg wants a cut as well. Thumbs up

I don't think cowboy action folks use 30/30 much, not at least those that care about their times. Plus its a later day cartridge which precludes competing in some categories.
