Harrasing phone calls from the N.R.A.

As of about 2 weeks ago I have been recieving phone calls from the NRA almost daily sometimes several times a day. When I answer I get 3 of the following outcomes...

First off its a recording about politics and wanting my vote and for me to renew my membership. The second being a real person stating just about the same thing. I tell the person to stop the phone calls (on more than one occasion) and that I am on the "do no call list". The last in which is probably the most annoying is just a call then hangup and dial tone when i answer. This is getting old. Sometimes they will call after 8:30 at night.

I used to be a member of the NRA and was proud to be up untill I got laid off and couldn't afford the fee's anymore. Since then it seems like all the NRA really cares about is my money and my vote at the poll.

Sorry to rant but I was just wandering if anyone else was getting these phone calls...

NRA calls

I renewed for another 5 years this summer, and I'm also getting daily - sometimes multiple calls per day. Very annoying... I have caller ID so I don't answer them. One I did answer was about selling me insurance via NRA. And yes they call all times of the day, sometimes late in the evening.

I'm on the no-call list too, so I don't know how to end this barrage of calls. Anyone have any ideas?

When you answer the call tell them to remove your phone number from their list.  Also get the name of the caller and their supervisor.  Mark down the time and date of the call.  This usually takes care of their nuisance calling.  You got on their list by giving the NRA your phone number and doing business with them one way or another.

To be honest, if you do business with a company (NRA) then they have the "right" to call you. I'm not saying that it's right, I'm just telling you why, while being on the "no call" list, they can still call you.

Yes I was aware that

Yes I was aware that companies and organizations can call if you are doing business with them. I think certain non-profits are exempt as well.

I support the NRA, but don't care to be bugged constantly. Don't mind the emails & some direct mail, though I think a lot of money is wasted on all the direct mailings.

I have never had this problem

I have never had this problem myself but I may just be missing the calls as there are 5 life members in the house and I'm not there very much myself. I do get a lot of emails for various offers and a fair amount of mail as well. These things are easy to delete or ignore though so are not a big problem.

I understand the extreme importance of what they do but some of these tactics are counter productive.

My kids and I got our life memberships by being sponsored by my uncle for only 300 each a couple of years ago. This was a super deal for my kids and a pretty good one for me as well.

I used to get some calls

I used to get some calls years ago, nothing like posted above. Since I have become a life member I can say I don't get calls any more at all.  I just recently signed up to recieve my magizine's by email this year to help cut costs down for NRA to help fight for our rights and beliefs.

The only calls I ever get

The only calls I ever get anymore are from some Police support organization, and from one number that I have never answered, but when I google it, it shows that it's from a political call center in Arizona.

I know that one by heart now, so I just ignore it.  Never really been bothered by the NRA.  I get mail from them occasionally, but I never get phone calls.

I've never really get calls

I've never really get calls from groups like this, But then again I always put my house phone number down and dont even have a phone hooked up. I get free phone service through work but both my wife and i just use our cells. When i did have a phone hooked up i would get sales calls from time to time soi just unplugged the darn thing. this wont work for everyone but it works great for me. If i had to pay for phone service i wouldnt and my plan wouldnt work.
