Handgun Hunters.....

Am curious how many folks here hunt with handguns only? (carrying no rifle)  For big game, deer elk,bear,etc...would you rather use a single shot/bolt action type pistol, or would you have have an revolver?

Not asking size of caliber, but single shot vs revolver?    S.A. vs D.A.?

thanks,

WiskeyJaR

I have use both but my preference is my break action Thompson Center Contender hands down.  You just cant get the performance out of a round like a single shot handgun can.

When you are hunting with a pistol weather it is a single shot, bolt, revolver, or semiautomatic you learn that you only have one real shot to get the job done and you hunt accordingly. It is a lot like bow hunting, you had better make that first shot count because odds are you are not going to get a second one even if you do have 6 more arrows in the quiver.
