I have several pics of deer from Ohio on my game cams. This is one of the worst. It appears their hair is missing in big patches. All the deer are like this with the exception of fawns. What is it? thanks.
I tried googling hairless deer but didn't find anything. I would say the deer are simply losing thier summer coats based on your statement that they all look that way. I would suggest calling the Ohio DNR to see what they say. I had some trail cam shots with deer having patches of missing hair - I chalked it up to insect bites and them rubbing the area bare. Let us know if you find anything out.
From the books that I have read, there is a lot of importance in knowing every nook and cranny of your hunting territory as well as the animal that you are hunting. So scouting as much as possible, just walking the land, will give you a good idea of what's around the corner or what's on the other side of a hill. Which can be very beneficial.
