I could just kick myself!!!

My first a 20 gauge Topper breakdown, single shot.

I've never sold a gun in my life, 'cause I don't like regret. But the closest thing for me was a 20 gauge Model 11 I grew up with. It was my grandpa's gun, and my uncle and dad had grown up with it. When I got old enough to hunt, my dad got it from my uncle, who never hunted or did any shooting. None of his kids or grandkids do, either. The gun had been sitting unfired in his closet for decades. It came to me with half a case of Peters shotshells dating back to the early '40s.

I got my first everything with that gun, and have a lot of memories associated with it. But after I graduated from high school, my dad returned it to my uncle without even talking to me about it beforehand -- and it's been sitting unfired in my uncle's closet for over 25 years since.

Let me know when you plan on paying your uncle a visit next time. I'll distract him in the garage for a bit, while you find that closet and snag that Remington back.

Have only sold 3 guns in my life.
-Winchester mod 94 in 30-30, sold it to a good buddy no regrets.
-4 inch barreled .22 mag revolver ( I forget the make?). Never did like that gun, no regrets.
-Savage Mod 27 O/U .22 Long over 20 ga. My only regret, it was a great little gun but I was young and needed some quick cash ,)

I'd regret that too. Barrel or not.

I wished very badly that I had not gotten rid of that one.
My Uncle brought ot back from Germany and gave it to me when I graduated with my degree. It was well used and after couple thousand surplus FMJs shot thru it and mabe a little too much cleaning I could only muster 7.5" groups at 200 yards with several wildcats thrown in.
Knowing now what I didn't know then I could have probably saved the barrel if I had taken it to gunsmith of possibly have just gotten another one but it wouldn't shoot straight anymore and I wanted another rifle so I got rid of it and bought a Rem. 700 in .308. That, along with 8 more various firearms, was stolen from my house in 2001.

One of the casualties of a messy divorce. I still miss the gun much more than the ex-wife.
