Damn I'm sorry. It was WH that said it. And I believe that it may well come to past, that is sad but sadder would be to continue to decay the way we are.
What I would really like to see is every encumbant thrown out of office the next three general elections. Won't happe though, To much welfare and pork floating around. But I believe that would really let government know who's country this really is. Passive agresssion!
I still say that there is a world of difference between taking up arms against your government and open carrying a firearm at a protest or town hall meeting.
As mentioned, both are in the Constitution but are they the wisest choice? I say no, there are still more desirable and effective methods still to be tried.
Things are nowhere near as bad that we must overthrow our government by force, that can be done legally and according to the constitution by voting those idiots out of office, as Don mentioned.
If we decide that we'll overthrow the government every time the President lies to us or our Congressman doesn't vote the way we want them to then we'll have a new government every other month and then we'll resemble our Central American neighbors. That is not the legacy I want to leave for my children and grand children.
Organize ourselves, join your local Patriotic group, get out and convince friends that their vote matters as well as their knowledge of the issues and the politicians they are presented with. Do something besides sitting around and complaining that things are terrible as mentioned here. http://www.biggamehunt.net/node/29734
On a side note. It is very refreshing to have a debate such as we are having here now without all the name calling and trash talking that was common place here just a few short months ago.
This wasn't about anything the guy said. This was about putting up a target for Matthews to knock over. Matthews was on transmit the entire time, and wasn't about to let this guy get a point out.
I've worked in TV...I know how it's done. They put this guy on national TV in a T-shirt. OK...that may have been his choice...but it fit the stereotype they were trying to present. Notice also the absence of makeup on the guy. I don't care who you are...when you're on TV you wear makeup because the lights are harsh and make your skin look horrible -- not only from the shine factor, but because they wash out natural skin tones and accentuate things like razor stubble. In the TV world they put makeup on guests if they're doing an on-camera interview in a studio under the lights. Matthews' makeup is flawless, and Kostric looks like Oswald.
This underscores the point I made early in this thread. If we're going to raise Cain and get people in this country to wake up, we need to use the Left's tactics against them. If you're going on Matthews, you look professional, be well spoken, stay calm and on message, and let the audience see Matthews as a bloviating bully. Deny them a target. Better yet, if you do it right you use their strength against them and leave them looking like the bad guy. We want mainstream America to see us as mainstream Americans who have realized that the Emperor is naked -- not as people on the fringes.
I thougth Matthews failed in his attempt and he knew it. That's why halfway throught he interview he backed-off quite a bit. I thought the protester came off sounding quite well and made a few good points to justify himself, right or wrong. For being the target of Chris Matthews on national TV and responding as well as he did, all things considered I was impressed.
I agree with WH, though Kostric looked less than "polished" he held his own very well, in spite of Matthews hammering away at him. Matthews behaved poorly, and no amount of makeup or a suit will help that.
Kostric represented those of us who believe like he does quite well. He was informed, calm and unrattled when Mathews went into his tirade.
His answers showed a depth in his understanding of the Constitution and the events that have formed it and the proceeding amendments.
I also agree with expatriate in that Mr. Matthews thought he was getting a bumpkin to slap around and was surprised by the intelligence of this guy, to the point that he was agreeing with him close to the end.
I find it foolish that you can carry a weapon unloaded openly but you can't carry it unloaded concelled without a permit. Were I one of those people, my weapon of choice would be an auto-loader and a full magazine would be near my left hand.
I think if California wanted to spare their citizens, they would just allow everyone to carry concelled, the bad guys do and they are the ones to worry about. I love the photo of the officer inspecting that skinny little old lady. I feel he should have slammed her up to the wall, cuffed her and read her her rights first. Oh wait, they don't do that to the bad guy's, they carry concelled and loaded so they don't get noticed!
I find it foolish that you can carry a weapon unloaded openly but you can't carry it unloaded concelled without a permit.
So do we. This is what our protests are about. Through a little known loophole in our laws we can carry openly (albeit unloaded) in public but cannot carry concealed for our own defense due to the restrictive, corruptly enforced and unfair gun laws in our state. All such protests have gone rather well and have actually been well received by most people. More are scheduled and many local gun clubs (mine included) are planning more such protests in the future. Now does anyone still feel threatened by little old ladies, carrying openly and lawfully? Maybe we need to call in an air strike on the little grandmother that was there.
Let me start off by saying that I am a scaredy cat.
For someone that spent 3 years in 82nd Airborne jumping out of all manner of military aircraft, my friends find this ludicrous - but... it is what it is!
Climbing stand? Yep, still scared - put me up 15' and that is about it.
Ladder stands? I am better in these - but still cautious.
Chain on stands? Used to love them, now they terrify me.
I was once ridiculed for putting chain on stands waaaay too high - some of my friends...
