gun registry petition

This is the reply I got today from The registry:

"Yes, you can renew your firearms licence, please provide me with your full name, firearms licence number and your complete mailing address and a renewal package will be sent to you. Note, the form CAFC 979 can also be downloaded from our website at http://www.cfc-cafc.gc.ca.

If you have further questions, please contact our office at 1 800 731-4000.(end quote)

Since all it will cost is a photo, I will renew mine anyway, it will give me a couple of extra free years. I encourage ALL to do the same, you save, and The registry doesn't get your money(the most important)

I renewed mine back in July. A buddy told me that I should start the process about 2 months in advance because if I was late(past my birthdate) I would be charged the full fee......I didn't have any problems. The new fee coming into effect this year is something I wasn't aware of.

To my knowledge there is no proposed "new" fee, but the present fee, $60.00 or $65, is waived until May 17th, ( for RENEWALS only) after that everyone applying for a license, whether a renewal or a new applicant, will pay it.
