Greatest moose hunter in history?

I need some help!

I'm a Scandinavian outdoors writer compiling a series of articles under the title "Believe it or not". For these articles I'm gathering information of great hunters and their achievement throughout the history of hunting. I have plenty of material concerning European, African and Asian hunters, but very little on America.

Who were the greatest moose hunters in American history? How many animals did they bag? When, where etc...? I'm also interested in facts about remarkable shots, personal hunting skills and amazing anecdotes of the hunt.

Any hints to further information in books, articles or online would be highly appreciated!

Thank you

Jens

My wifes uncle has well over 80 notches on his hunting knife each represinting a moose kill since he got the knife . so all and all he probably has well over 100. His wife on the first moose hunt of her life Got a bull cow and a calf with a 303 enfield on the same run at the same time. I was preaty impressed.
PM me if you want an adress and phone #.

Check out The RACKMAN if you want believe it or not. I think he purchased McMillan river outfitters from dave coleman and named it McMillan river adventures, it's in the yukon, and its some of the most awesome footage you will ever see about moose hunting in the rut.... Thumbs up . I also think he has the pending world record for Archery Alaska/Yukon Moose

I know she won't be considered as the greatest, but my daughter Abby Phillips wish when she was 9 years old was to be the first in our family to shot a moose. Not a big deal, except we live in south-western PA. So we applied that year for Maine and she set by the computer for 5 hours listening for her name and nothing, no tag. We applied to hunt in 2009 the following year and she was selected as an alternate . I called to see were they were on the list they were on #18 and only had a cow tag, being #21 things looked bleak. A week later got the call and the lady said that #20 took the cow tag, but someone else had turned in a tag, it was for a bull. Only had 8 hours to accept or decline. Spent 4 hrs. locating a guide in the zone and accepted the tag. She shot for weeks with her 7mm-08 before the hunt, we made the 13 hr. drive, and scouted the day before we could hunt and saw nothing. The first morning we went to our first set and saw a cow at 85 yrds away in a skid road, she stood for about 5 min. and moved of to the right. About a min. later out stepped the bull she got ready and made a perfect shot the moose fell in the road. total hunt 30-35 min. could not have been more proud. The bull was broke up a little from fighting, but still measured 46 in. An experience that we will never forget. What an amazing animal.
