Hit the new archery facility on hwy 115 by Ft. Carson before you get into Colo. Springs. It has some excellent traditional target ranges and 3-D only and 3-D mixed with paper targets. Recently got my Hoyt Charger tuned and installed a QAD fall away rest opting to forgo the whisker biscuite route I'd been following. My whisker biscuit was getting rather deformed from all my shooting and it was affecting accuracy. Had a drastic tightening of groups with the QAD and it made me a believer in the fall away. My and my bud, Steve worked a 12 hr shift last night but he convinced me to forget about sleeping and head right to this new range after getting off work this morning. Was a little reluctant at first but had a great time after all and was really glad we went. We shot from ranges of 20 yds to 80 yds on a paper moose being the furthest. I'm only sighted in to a 70 yard pin so after 2 shots to find my hold I nailed it on my third shot. Got a coyote with one shot at 50 and my first paper whitetail buck with one shot at 65 yds. The trophy Muley, Bull Elk, and Moose, 3-D groups were all at 50 yds. I am more confident and ready this year with my bow then any other year I hunted archery. It seems like it's all come together after a lot of practice and dedicated work on consistent form and getting some adjustments corrected on my bow that weren't quite right. If anyone in this area can make it to the new range I highly suggest you get out there it's great!
