Great Plains Trigger Guard

Hello all,

My dad purchased a Lyman Great Plains Hunter a month or so back. We were out shooting it yesterday and he happen to make a comment while cleaning how beautiful it would look if it had a brass trigger guard.

I was wondering if anyone happen to know where to find one and buy it? I have done some Internet searching and have come up empty.

Thank you,
Bill

Have you considered getting your existing guard plated with brass? I think it can be done.

You could try "Dixie Gun Works" and "Track of the Wolf" even go to the Lyman web page and see if they offer one?

I have thought of that, but I have no way of sneaking the trigger guard off and having it done with out him knowing. I was hoping to possibly get one for a Christmas present for him.

I have checked the Lyman web page and I didn't see anything like that. I will do a web search on the two places and see what they have.

Thanks

Track of the wolf is a great site. If you are not sure wheather it can be used for your model, you can email them. They are very helpful.

Thank you for the idea, I looked into it and at first i thought it would work but then remembered that my dads is a two trigger and the trade rifle is a single trigger. Thank you again for the idea.

So have a try with the Lyman Hawken or Cabelas Hawken, which is also from Lyman. It has a double trigger.
