I have done a lot of hunting in that area when I was a kid. The area South of Strawberry Resiviour on Highway 40 and the White River area out of Soldier Summit on Highway 6 hold some real fine bulls. There is some private but most of it is National Forest. If it gets wet in these areas you better have 4 wheel drive and chains. You'll need to hunt high in the early season.

Just so that you know where I am talking the Strawberry area can be reached on US 40 out of Heber and the White River area is on the summit on US 6 between Spanish Fork and Price. If you go to the HWY 6 side there are two roads that make a big circle and meet above Stawberry right on top. They are the Right Hand Fork and Left Hand Fork of the White river. There is also a road that will take you back to the East and come out on US 191. Just a FYI the last time that I was up there was during a spike hunt in 2001 and did see 3 bulls that would push 400.

Another FYI for you if you are working in Provo is that there are some nice bulls on Timp but it is some tough hunting, Wallsburg is also a nice area
.I struck out in Utah again this year for a Buffalo and a limited entry deer tag but I have a lifetime licenses for deer there so I have that on. Now in Colorado I have a archery deer and either sex elk tag, along with a cow tag for late season. The only other state that I played with this year is Arizona but that was only for a preference point for deer witch I will cash in on in a couple of years. I will also end up with tags for deer and elk in Montana if I decide to head up there.

I've heard of some nice bulls up behind Silver Lake but never have run into them up there.

Critter has given you some good info and is right on the money. Working in Provo you are right there too. So when you're working in Provo are you going to be there without the fam? If so you have a SWEET set up for this coming season since you could scout just about every day.

Since we're talking about Provo I think I'm going to go hit the Provo River and see what I can catch on a few flies in here a few minutes. Later boys.

That's great news. I have been seeing a lot of elk up Spanish Fork canyon this year in the usual places I see them. I've run into a few elk up by Strawberry as well. I haven't seen any big bulls but I haven't been looking for elk, I have just run into them. Glad to see you are having some luck finding elk.
