Good old fashion deer camp

Does anybody hunt from a "Deer Camp" anymore? Any photos or stories you can post?

We do a deer camp every year up in Northern Missouri.

It's usually about 5 adults and our kids (sometimes) and we stay for 4 days. We camp out in the middle of a pasture...a pop-up trailer and one guy has a nice RV. It's got all the modern conveniences, so it makes it better for the kids.

We've built a number of 2-person stands scattered about the property. We all go out and hunt in the morning, come back for lunch and maybe a quick nap, then head back out in the afternoon.

It's always great fun..lotsa stories, lotsa laughs, and oh yea...we usually get a few nice deer, too. But that's the icing on the cake. Thumbs up

I will be packing my elk camp in on saturday. I use a mountain bike with a small trailer. works pretty good. A little more luxury than backpack style.

I go to a friend's cabin once a year with old high school friends for a weekend of bird hunting. I didn't get to go this year though, but I guess I wasn't the only one, so I felt a little better. I spoke with a friend this month about trying to set a deer camp this November, weather permitting. Something we've really been wanting to start. Those pics are nice! Makes me want to get out sooner.

I have been going to this northern Maine camp for 15 years or so a friend of mine his father ownes it. There is a few deer around but never many killed. I get up there for the rut for 10 days this year. A camp is only as good as the people at it!!
