Good News/Bad News

Well, good news....... put in an offer on a bigger house today.  We have a verbal agreement, just waiting for the signed acceptance and we can start escrow.  It's about 2100 sq ft, not as big as my wife wanted, but 450 more than we have now, plus the 4th bedroom.  Best of all, it's got a huge yeard by southern CA/city standards.  Almost 1/3 of an acre.  My 2 and 6 year old boys (and I) are gonna love it. (Room for shooting my bow........ Wink )

Bad news....... Can't do Colorado, or any other traveling hunt this fall other than Vermont with my Dad.  Need to square away the property with some remodeling and such, but next fall should be a definate possibility.

Anyway, hopefully I can get in the CO elk and Arizona Coues I want next year.  I will focus on local CA deer for now, and still put in for the elk and stuff out here.  Oh, and turkey started this past weekend.  Still need to check that off my list....... lol

Too darn busy with the house

Too darn busy with the house thing.  Ours sold faster than I anticipated, and we couldn't find a new one we liked.  Seemed like the market dried up all of a sudden, with the exception of foreclosures which were trashed.  I now have to find a short term rental for the 60 days or so after we move out, and before ours is ready.  Not easy out here, as everyone seems to want 1 year leases. Ugh.

Haven't had much time to think about hunting. Heck, I haven't even patterned my shotgun, or shot my bow since the close of archery on Dec. 31st, and turkey season started a couple of days ago.....

Isn't that the way things

Isn't that the way things always go.  You think that you have 6 months or a year to sell a house and then some buyer comes up and offers you what you are asking for it and then they want to move right in.  Then they expect you to get out weather you have a place to live or not. Help!

That is one of the problems with hunting, something is always getting in the way of it.  I know that one of my nieces asked her dad when the hunting seasons were so that when she planed her wedding she wouldn't cause any problems. Thumbs up

I know that money may be a little bit tight with buying a home along with getting into a rental but you might look at just the preference point this year.  Then next year you should have no problems drawing the tag that you are looking at.

Congrats on the house Sean!

Congrats on the house Sean! It's the same up here on rentals, everyone wants a year lease. Hope everything works out. My hunting plans are going to be cut short this year too. Since I had to use a weeks vaction after my shoulder surgery before my short term disability kicked in. However I'm already back at work and shooting my bow 3-4 time a week so the shoulder is healing up great. and the best part is I don't have the consistant pain I had before.

Congratulations on the new house Sean!  Sorry to hear about not being able to hunt Colorado or elsewhere this year.  The extra square footage makes it nice inside and the yard definitely allows more target practice with the bow.  The CA hunting will come through for you as well as VT so you won't miss out.  Good luck with that remodeling.  I definitely know about that stuff... and would rather be out in the forest.  Thumbs up

Congratulations on the new house but that sucks about hunting. I am knee deep in honey do projects since I was overseas all last year but my tags are in and nothing short of being sent overseas is going to stop it this year. Another PP will not hurt if you hunt Colorado. Good luck with the new place and enjoy it.
