girl gun.

if you like the 7mm rem mag, but dont like the recoil, and am concidering the 7mm-08 but think it might be a bit whimpy on moose and maybe even caribou, may i suggest the 280 rem. it fires the same 7mm (.284") bullet as the other two and falls between them in both trajectory/energy and recoil. or if your a handloader you can max a 280 rem to about match the rem mag. happy hunting.

take the 270 over the 280 as you can find 270 ammo alot more then the 280 Thumbs up Thumbs up Thumbs up

Well, I think we will be going for a .308 this time around. Was looking at the .270 pretty hard and still might get one down the road. The selling point for us is that we like that there are more options in bullet weight with the 308. Also, I like the 30cals and have everything we need for that calibre already.

Now, she has fallen in love with a Winchester model 70 brown laminated, coyote, stainless. Needles to say we are driving to go see one this weekend. There isn’t much left so I’m wondering what you all have to say about this gun… or calibre…and or the combination of the two?

Don't know much about the gun but any woman who "falls in love" with a gun is a real keeper in my book. She got a sister?????

a piece of history matched with a versatile round

sounds perfect. I am a little partial to that old 1950's round due to its versatility over the 270 280 30-06 7-08 but then again they are all so very close. Please let us know how things go. Thumbs up Thumbs up Thumbs up

Well that gun is really ugly in real life. Found this out with a lot of guns that looked great on the internet are ugly in real life. Funny thing is it works the other way to. However, we now have a Tikka T3 Lite Stainless with a Burris Fullfiels scope in nickel on its way. Hope it looks and works great together … Think
