Getting the other half involved

I'm getting my wife a bow because, well, she wants one. The problem I'm having is I'm still pretty new to the sport and I'm not sure about what weight of field tips i should have her shoot. 75, 85, 100?? I'm thinking about getting her a Browning Micro Adrenaline 40-50#

oh by the way, she does want to hunt with me this fall. I'm wondering if this bow will be adequate for elk. Think

If she is going to hunt then match the weight of the field tips to that of the broadheads you're going to use.

My opinion is to use the 100 grain. Also, consider the total weight of the arrow for the bow. There are sites, Easton.com for one (I believe) that will help you select the right arrow.

You probably already have, but just in case, make sure you check your states game laws on minimum draw weights etc. for hunting Elk/big game.
I know here in Az we have a minimum draw weight and broadhead diameter.
If it were me, I don't think I would hunt with less than the 100's, but can't back that up with any real reason why. Just that I don't know anybody that hunts with less I suppose....
It's great your spouse wants to hunt too. My wife loves to as well, but only with a rifle. I enjoy my time out with her, and my kids hunt too.
My teenage daughter had expressed an interest in getting a bow, then she discovered boys and all the talk ended, ha ha. Laugh She did apply for a rifle Elk hunt this year... though unsuccessfully however.
Have fun.

Two boys and one girl here.
I dunno though, I sort of wish I would have had more girls while younger..... heartbreakers for sure.. Laugh Laugh
Take care, and good luck with the bow selection.

My wife has been shooting, hunting and shooting 3D leagues with me for the last 5 or so years, I can honestly say that I have never had a better, or for that fact, better looking hunting partner.

what kind of bows do your wives shoot? I'm thinking about getting my wife a Bowtech Equalizer.

She shoots a Hoyt Havotec set at 45 lbs, she had to work up to it. We started out with a Hoyt Rebel, and that got handed down to my youngest daughter.
