Got a couple hours in the woods this past saturday for the opening of the ML season here in Georgia.
Set up on a hill of planted pines next to a couple hundred acres of waist high sorghum. About 7:20 I had a grey fox pass me and head off to my left. About 10 minutes later I decided to have a smoke before heading down the hill to a stand I placed overwatching a bedding area. right after I lit up sitting against an oak tree a squirrel to my right started going nuts. I looked up at him and realized he was looking down wind of me and I looked that way also. Standing there looking me dead in the eye from about 35 yards was what appeared to be a cow horn with brow tines. after a 5 minute staredown he let me put my cig out and then he moved to my left giving me a sweet shot on his neck. Never make sudden movements or strange sounds and I think that they don't mind the human scent as much. Turns out to be a 8pt
