General Elk Info, Area 67, Idaho

I will be hunting area 67 for general season elk this fall. My geographic position at this time won't allow me to scout this area out, but for a few days just before the season. I've used just about every reference at my available to find a spot, except walk it out. If anyone has any helpful info on this area, would appreciate anything you would part with. I plan on hiking in about a mile and setting up camp. Not asking for places to go, or where all the elk are at, just general characteristics, hunter density, and questions about some prospective spots that will set me in the right direction. Thanks.

67 is BIG country and by big I mean tall. I'm hunting 66 this year but in 67 you'll do well to be in place the day before opener and sit just on the downhill side of a saddle and wait for others to do the work. If I remember, elk cross from the East and North facing slopes to the opposite. Not too many hunters straying from the road so you should be in a good spot. Just try to camp a mile+ from your chosen spotting site. Good Luck.
