I guess I don't get it. Where's the smoking gun here, pangolin?
It's in the fourth paragraph. The story fills in a lot of background re Cheney and torture but what we are interested in on this thread is the briefings by the CIA.
The CIA made no mention of his role in documents delivered to Capitol Hill last month that listed every lawmaker who had been briefed on "enhanced interrogation techniques" since 2002. For meetings that were overseen by Cheney, the agency told the intelligence committees that information about who oversaw those briefings was "not available."
So what the CIA did was list the Dems at the briefings, but not mention the many other meatings she wasn't invited to which were run by Cheney. Instead they said the information on who ran the meetings wasn't available. What the CIA did was tell a bald faced,..... uhm... untruth.
The CIAs continued fabrications don't give them much credibility in the he said she said going on with Pelosi. In the end that's all it will ever be. No notes or recordings allowed at the meatings and the supposed notes the CIA took afterwards turn out to be fabrications with people listed there on the other side of the country at the time and using terminology not invented until years later. The probably made them up last week.
Don't forget, the CIA has it's own issues with this whole topic. There are many good reasons to discredit Pelosi.
A fairly effective smear job on Pelosi. No matter what the truth is if you can get your message out on the tee vee for 3 days in a row, you've won.
