GA is trying to expand right to carry to church.

There is a proposal that would allow concealed carry by license holders in churches and other places of worship.  This is a great advancement for GAs gun rights. Allot of even pro gun individuals cringe when you talk about carry in a church, but it is perhaps one of the easiest places for a mass shooter to "get" as many people as they can. Lots of people in a confined place makes these locations really vulnerable. It doesn't matter that these places are filled with religious individuals that would likely never go on a rampage. Anyone can walk into a church.

That would be a big plus for

That would be a big plus for Georgia permit holders as there is absolutely no reason to ban them from churches or any place else for that matter. We have no such restrictions here in Colorado. In fact it was funny awhile back as our church hired an armed security guard after that shooting all over the news last year. One Sunday shortly after he was in place the pastor jokingly made a comment about who would protect him if something happened, after all by a show of hands how many members had brought a gun to church that day?

8 hands went up across the room. And all this time we had never had a problem.

I see nothing wrong with bringing a gun to church

I’ve got to agree with you Hunter. I see nothing wrong with bringing a gun to church or anyplace else. Nothing like that will ever pass in liberal nanny-state New York, but I gotta say that I feel pretty darn safe at a gun-show and I do not feel threatened by anyone in church. So if someone is church going and licensed to carry, I think I’d feel pretty safe I their company too. Safer than on the street among strangers in fact. An armed Christain is a pretty good combination in my book. After all – who do you want to be well armed? I’ll take the law abiding, person with a moral compass that I agree with over an armed stranger who does not attend church every time!
