Fun Contest.....

No prizes, just something to kill time if you're bored.  Has anyone used Google Street View before?  There are pages dedicated to it, seeing what you can find.  Funny people, animals, things, etc.  Well, I was wondering if anyone has found and posted wild animals.  If you do a search for it, you get the same 10 or so screen shots, none of them what I would say are "wild" animals.

So, I decided to look around at areas I knew could have animals, and sure enough, I found 3 mule deer does standing on the edge of the road as the Google Vehicle passed in the Rocky Mountain National Park.  Can't figure out how to screen grab it, but it's pretty cool.

Anyone that knows how to use it, want to try and find animals? I will work on saving the image I found.......

Boy, I wish I knew how to

Boy, I wish I knew how to screen grab that stuff.  I just found a herd of elk 50 feet off the road, with a couple older ladies standing on the edge taking photos..... lol

Almost smack in the middle of their rut too.  Probably not a good idea......

Neat!

Pretty neat there Ca_V!  The street view did not go down the back roads to either of the 2 places I will hunt this year... but while on the app I had looked hard for any herds... and saw none.  Also looked at the Ohio farm and saw most of the stands easily but again no animals that I could decipher.

Dated Satellite Views

Now that is cool going through Yellowstone! From what I can tell the google satellite images away from street view are at least 12 to 13 months old. I can see the difference between what was there last July and what I see now.

If you are in Street View,

If you are in Street View, you can look at the bottom left corner of the image, and it tells when the photos were taken.  RMNP was September 2012, and I believe Yellowstone was August of 2012.
