Frame packs for elk?

I'll be giveing my first go @ elk hunting this year and feel that so far i'm prepared, lol yea right your all saying. I've done probally more scouting then i needed and talked to more people then probally wanted to talk to me. still piecing a few things together, one question i have for you all is what type of frame pack do you use to pack out an elk if you are so lucky. Has anyone ever used the GI Alice pack, their a dime a dozon on ebay. i have an old hikeing frame pack that could work. Is there a prefrence any of you might suggest. Thanks for any help guys.

you should check out the gamesled. i think the web site is gamesled.com you would have to drag it though.

We're fond of Bullpacs. They have a great "ledge" that helps to secure quarters or even other items to the frame.

Frame packs for elk?

If you never handled a dead elk before, i would encourage to get one of the videos about quartering. Walking up to an elk on the ground is a whole nother world than a deer. If you have someone with you it helps a lot. Its not that hard to quarter but can be intimidating if you've never done one before.

Frame packs for elk?

I am also from albany and Bi-Mart has a really nice one for about 50 bucks. I used the one i bought about 2 weeks ago packing out my bull I shot in Ochoco. It has lots of padding and is overly adjustable with a huge shelf at the bottom. Made life a dream!!! Thumbs up
