Well, purchased a seed mix of my own research that i think will work. Mostly Sainfoin with some yellow sweet clover and small Burnet. The 5-7 acre plot has a creek running through it and critters are there. Just want to keep them there longer. Grass is thick and plan to till up the best we can to get a 50/50 mix after mowing/tilling and planting. We will do a fall late summer re plant depending on out the success. I think the turkeys are going to give us problems when the seeds pop. So, will have to thin some of them out. Elk and deer use it until August, but with the good food that should be growing it may keep them there until rut and first frost. Small Burnett will attract then through winter and they will dig to find it. Sweet clover will probably pop first and do better first year. Sainfoin when established is palatable and elk and deer prefer it over alphalfa. It is non bloating.Keep you all posted!!
