Florida Quota Hunt applications

Just wanted to remind everyone that tomarow's the first. that means it's time to put in your quota hunt applications after 10:00am.

It's been a few years since I've hunted in Fl but I got some pretty good choices I think and I hopefully get one of them. Good luck to everyone applying. Thumbs up

Re: Florida Quota Hunt applications

Just got it taken care of, but man florida has got their system all messed up. It couldn't have been more confusing a real pain in the a$$ if you don't have a drivers license and only a state id.

Hopefully I'll get what I put in for.... Mr. Cool! I'm corssing my fingers untill then.

What hunts are on a quota sytem in Fla? I was unaware they had that kind of system. I have friends of the family there and had thought about going down for hunting in the future. Thanks

Re: Florida Quota Hunt applications

In most of the Wildlife Managment Areas(exspecially the smaller more secluded ones) a quato system is in place. Also the first 9 days of gun and dog season are resereved for quota permits(in most WMA's) as well as doe permits. check the myfwc.com site for more info its realy confusing to say the least.

Results:

Well I ended up getting my last choice this year which is not a big suprise. I didn't have any pref. points and ended up drawing Citrus WMA for both archery and general gun. The downside to this is that they are both really late season's archery quota is in mid November during the same time as general gun season. And the gun quata is for Jan 2011. The upside to this is I'll be able to hunt the rut with my bow, and post rut during general gun.

The tags are for buck only in this unit and from my recent and past years scouting this area is loaded with mature does and lots of old scrapes. I didn't see a whole lot of bucks but I know they're in there. Lots of hog sign too(which is no size or bag limit).

I've never hunted Citrus WMA but visit it quite frequently. It's only about 20 mintues from my house which is nice but its a large unit(for florida) The area I plan on hunting is only about 30 minutes away.

Best of luck to anyone else hunting this humid, hot as hell state this year.(wishin' I was back in the rocky's lol)

I just checked the myfwc

I just checked the myfwc website wandering when they plan on sending out the quoto permits this year. To my suprise they arn't going to be mailing them anymore. Either you print your own or you have to go up to the tax collectors office and pick your up.

What a sham

So I tried to print out my

So I tried to print out my permits today and what do you know, it didn't work. I got an error that said I would have to go to a licsence aggent and pay $2.50 to get a replacement because I had printed them out already. I can't get over how much of a pain in the ass its been this year after moving back down here.

Compared to the system in place in Colorado, Florida has a long ways to go. With little to no customer service options on their site. I was going to send them an email or call but I couldn't find a way too??? :rotest1  Looks like I'm going to have to go to the tax collectors office and wait in line one morning.
